Claire Milner uses her subject matter and content as a portal to explore a variety of mediums in the studio. She mixes references to older pictorial traditions with those of cutting-edge digital techniques. Her practise encompasses digital and new media works, traditional studio paintings, mixed media, crystal methodologies, mosaic and handmade paper collage. This positioning of mediums, vocabularies and genres creates a symbiotic amalgamation of digital, classical and handmade, fusing high art with popular culture and topical themes. In a continuous circle, one medium and technique connects to the next and seamlessly links back again in a process which exemplifies a rich personal experience in complementary creative art and design fields, united under an overarching theme.
